Several Garmin users are reporting this morning their watches are stuck in a never-ending boot screen featuring a so-called “blue triangle of death.” Others are stuck in the typical boot screen. However, once stuck, users are unable to do anything else with their device.

If your Garmin watch is showing a blue triangle, you’re not alone—users of Forerunner, Fenix, and Epix watches have been reporting this issue since January 28, and Garmin is looking into it. There’s now an official fix.

Garmin’s instructions seem to suggest that devices will need to be factory reset if a power cycle does not work. Reconfiguring a watch from scratch would be inconvenient, so it might be worth waiting to see if Garmin can issue an update that resolves the issue. If you cannot wait too long, you might just have to go through the hassle.
