Violins of Hope is a project of concerts based on a private collection of violins, violas and cellos, all collected since the end of World War 2. Many of the instruments belonged to Jews before and during the war.

The Violins of Hope (Hebrew: כינורות של תקווה) is a collection of Holocaust-related string instruments in Tel Aviv, Israel. The instruments serve to educate and memorialize the lives of prisoners in concentration camps through concerts, exhibitions and other projects. [1]

Some violins were played by force, others as a form of resistance. But today, their music rises again, stronger and more vibrant -- testament to survival, hope, and the resilience of the human spirit. This is the transformative journey of Violins of Hope-Wisconsin.

Violins of Hope is an extraordinary collection of 70 restored string instruments, played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. Lovingly restored by Israeli violinmaker Amnon Weinstein and his son, Avshalom Weinstein, each violin carries a unique story of resilience.

This unique two-week immersive experience features violins played by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust. Through a series of curated events, each violin tells a powerful story of perseverance and hope, weaving together narratives of resilience through the power of music.

The collection of 70 string instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust have been painstakingly restored and are now coming to our area for cultural exhibitions, performances, and community education with a message of hope, resistance, resilience, and unity.

2021年1月27日 · The Violins of Hope are a collection of violins, violas and cellos that were owned by Jewish people, and played by Jewish musicians, before and during World War Two. The project to collect these instruments and tell their stories was founded by Israeli violin maker, Amnon Weinstein.

2024年11月29日 · The Violins of Hope organization aims to do that through powerful stories of resilience based on a private collection of stringed instruments (including violins, violas, cellos and double basses) connected with the Holocaust.

Restored by father and son Amnon (Z”L) and Avshalom Weinstein, these violins have found new life in concert halls from Charlotte to Berlin, a testament to the endurance and hope of the human spirit. The Alabama Holocaust Education Center is the proud caretaker of the Soldiers’ Violin.

Violins of Hope, the internationally beloved concert series featuring instruments once owned by Holocaust victims before and during World War II, returns to Jacoby Symphony Hall for a concert that is more than just a musical experience—it's a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of remembrance.
