I walked into Guitar Center the other day in Spokane Washington, and they had on the self d'Addario set of E9 pedal steel strings for $18.89, not sure and I don't keep up with prices, but I thought that was really high.

2010年4月14日 · I personally don't see much difference between the SIT BE E9 steel strings I use on E9 or the SIT power wound 6 string nickel sets I use on guitar, other than that one is stainless steel and one is nickel. I've used them interchangeably in the heat of battle.

2024年10月19日 · When I was playing Pedal steel the high G# would break often due to bending. So I would change it often to avoid failure during a gig. For the last 12 years or so, playing non-pedal steel constantly I have never broken a string!

2025年1月19日 · Also Steel Guitar strings (.11 PG) are different than plain steel strings. I normally tune the 3rd string to G and after awhile go to G#. like everyone says some extra wraps on the peg. 2024年12月25日 · The steel was further back in the mix and sounded more muted (less lively) than it sounded on the “Steel & Strings” album. That crisp, sparkly sound was gone. 2024年11月30日 · Steven, I understand your dilemma.. I am also struggling with changing tunings on my lap steel. My guitar is tuned to E6th. I chose this tuning because of my history with the guitar. I really Like the E tuning because it has a higher pitch when compared to A6th or C6th and sounds good with country music .

2013年10月26日 · Hi I’m brand new to this site and have yet to touch my first lap steel. I just ordered a set of GHS E major Lap Steel strings because I plan to play in Open E. Can these strings handle an Open D tuning as well? I saw a demo of an Open D Lesson where the instructor recommended the GHS G Lap strings because they work for Open D as well.

2024年10月31日 · Thinking about building a lap steel, partly for fun and partly to have something better than my SX3. I mainly find the SX3 too light and it moves around two easily and the pickup doesn't pick up the strings evenly. Trying to decide what I'd want to use for pickup(s).
