Glands of Zeis are unilobar sebaceous glands located on the margin of the eyelid. The glands of Zeis service the eyelash. These glands produce an oily substance that is issued through the excretory ducts of the sebaceous lobule into the middle portion of the hair follicle.

It also contains the following glands: Glands of Zeis are sebaceous glands of the eyelashes, concentrated at the lid margin; Glands of Moll are modified apocrine sweat glands that open onto eyelash follicles. Eccrine sweat glands are distributed throughout the eyelid skin. Sebaceous glands are located in the caruncle and within eyebrow hairs.
