Although born as male, her mother raised her as a girl, so that Marina wouldn't be raised as a dark priest. Marina mentions that she didn't have a problem with it as she grew older due to its intentions and the fact that it "felt natural" anyway.

Despite Marina's birth gender being male, her mother decided to conceal her identity to all others, including Marina's father and label her child female. This spared her now-daughter from the Dark Priest line of succession that all eldest sons of Priests must follow.

Marina was assigned male at birth, but raised a girl in terms of social etiquette and in attitude. These may have had an impact on personality, but not her gender identity as that is core to who she is.

With the recent transphobia, here and there on this sub, I just wanted to say that Marina is canonically transgender. She is not tokenized, she has other character traits and is as competent as anyone else in the cast of Termina.

2022年12月20日 · I always got the impression that Marina is biologically male, but the mother used actual magic and such to make her look like a biologically natural female. As in, literally altering Marina's bone structure, skin, and other such things. I considered it possible that she was also gender swapped through magic, but that's less likely.

Marina presents herself as a girl and lives as a girl. Orange himself said she has no crisis about HER gender. So yes, Marina was born as a boy, but is a trans girl.
