2010年3月8日 · I think people are getting confused about the definition of a pork pie hat. The size of the brim has nothing to do with whether a hat is a pork pie or not. A hat could have a 3" brim and be a porkpie, or a 1" brim and be a fedora. A pork pie's defining feature is its crown.

Expensive Panama hats are dressy (they are the warm-weather substitute for fur-felt fedoras), but inexpensive Panamas for casual wear are easy to find. For really casual--like for taking a three-hour walk on a warm day--the straw hats from Orvis work beautifully.

There was a time when men in their 20s would be mocked for not wearing hats, now people on the trad board of all places tell them they're playing dress up.

2017年10月1日 · Ok so the brown one has arrived, I also ordered the Lawrence & Foster Herringbone as advised. I am confused about brown one though. Maybe I was mistaken, but I was under the impression the bill of these hats was stiff, much like a baseball cap. Is this incorrect? Or is it dependent on the manufacturer? Or did I get a crap knock-off hat?
