2023年4月12日 · Quick Overview of Shackleton and crew's Journey. Ernest Henry Shackleton was an Anglo-Irish Antarctic explorer who led three British expeditions to the Antarctic. He was one of the principal figures of the period known as the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.

This map shows the proposed route of Shackleton's Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. It would cross the Antarctic continent from west to east, beginning on the coast of the Weddell Sea and finishing on the coast of the Ross Sea.

He lead three expeditions there. He was one of the main figures in the period of Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. He employed two ships for the imperial trans-Atlantic exploration.
