Their security police department is similar to other federal police agencies. They have multiple units (k9, swat, etc). They are not 6c covered and like Capitol Police they are not part of the excutive branch so you wouldn't be able to click "yes" on the usajobs search The protective agents are typically .mil guys from specialized units.

Where it can help is say being a CIA Police officer sucks you can then apply to be a contractor somewhere, albeit contractors with a TS//SCI are a dime a dozen in the DC metro area so you'll need the right background beyond the clearance to get good paying contractor offers.

As well as the possibility they might not be catergorized as "Law Enforcement" per certain requirements. There are several agencies and LEO's that do not fall under this retirement plan, such as DON/DOA police, CIA protective services.

2022年8月4日 · Just an FYI but CIA police have their own version of the law enforcement retirement with enhanced benefits. Pay wise they go to probably the equivalent to a GS-11 on their pay banding system have quite a bit of OT. They do have specialized units such as K9, EOD and they can move into other positions within the CIA and intelligence communities.

2009年9月6日 · I looked at the CIA "police officer" program a long time ago. At the time there was someone in the know on the board. They mentioned the possibility of being deployed overseas. I dont know what for or where but the source seemed reliable. The unfortunate thing with the CIA folks is they dont (nor should they) tell you much.

2020年8月6日 · The CIA pay is lower than you would receive as a Patrol Agent. But you wil work a lot more hours as a PA and the job is dangerous. You will be required to live along the southern border as a PA and often work alone in remote locations.
