There where 3 tribes there who where heavily involved in both the Arab and European slave trades, capturing other Malagasy and people from neighboring states (Comorros and East African coast). Upon arriving I learned basics in “official Malagasy,” and then ending up living in the North where I promptly forgot it all both because of the sheer amount of French vocabulary words that replace so many Malagasy ones there (food, numbers, etc.) and because of dialect differences.

2020年11月20日 · There aren't many resources available because Malagasy is a mostly spoken language, not written. The Malagasy, English dictionary by Dragoma is the best dictionary app I've found. If you speak French you may be able to find more resources as many Malagasy people also speak French, few outside of resorts speak English.
