2003 Grand Prix - Key stuck, shifter would not come out of park and ignition would not turn all the way to the key release position. Solution: normally would be to change solenoid, either on the column or on the floor shifter (could have been but was not the ignition module).

Hallo,I have been owner of Pontiac Grand Prix`98 for a year and half now and with 68000 km I haven`t had no problems till few months ago.Then I had problem taking out key from ignition.If I would wait couple of minutes I would hear "click sound" somewhere in driving wheel and not until then I would be able to take out the key.

My 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP has has a couple of issues since I bought the car last week. I can't drive it at night anymore because I don't have tail lights, I have brake lights, just no tail lights. Actually the GP GXP is rated at 303hp, not 290. Even better! I would have to go with the GTO as one of best blends of luxury performance for under $35k. Interior is MUCH nicer then Grand prix, many magainzes call GTO one of GM's BEST interiors, better then Vettes. Seats are much nicer esp backseat then grand prix as well.

That's a great point! I originally mentioned way back with my '05 Grand Prix that the ground strap near the batter on the body of the car gets build-up and corrosion - but there is the opposite end of the cable - which I never checked but could also be a problem - especially on an older year.
