The primary audiological clinical role that ASSR is used for is the estimation of hearing thresholds in all ages, where thresholds are difficult to obtain behaviourally. However the main concern when using ASSR is that it cannot diagnose Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD).
