Aug 28, 2013 · I thought the soft cushioning of the hoka would absorb any uneven or loose rocks but I guess that isn’t the case. I notice it also happens when I used to wear softer neutral shoes like the Brooks launch. Since I’m used to wearing stability shoes, maybe it has to do with the lack of a post or something. Anycase, thanks for the responses.

He didn’t roll his ankle or anything stack/foam related, though your point stands. Other brands focused on making fast shoes for racing using innovative materials.

Mar 12, 2017 · I felt like the Clifton was a hard brick with zero cushioning and I kept getting weird aches and pains. Moving on…the Claytons are awesome and have a lot of toe room. I raced all my 70.3s in the Clayton last year. Hoka just released the Clayton 2 and I am loving the colors.

Experience with OOfos? (or other "recovery" shoes)
Jan 3, 2024 · The Hoka slides are great and easy to get into. I just bought a pair of the Oofos this fall at IM Florida and to compare the two slides… the Oofos are softer than the Hokas. Very comfortable and I prefer them to the Hoka slides. Not sure about the arch but wearing Hokas as my walk around shoes and slides in the house really solved my PF.
Can high stack running shoes cause Achilles problems?
Jul 7, 2021 · The Hoka Mach 4 is a high stack shoe and aggravates my Achilles less than anything else I’ve tried. Emphasis on ‘my’, I’m sure they won’t suit some other people. NB Fuelcell TC is also high stack and when I tried that my Achilles was sore straight away so I gave it a pass but it’s a well liked shoe.
