From Carmel we took 2-lane State Route 1 to visit Big Sur. Big Sur is stretch of California’s central coast between Carmel and San Simeon. It’s surrender by the the Santa Lucia Mountains and the the Pacific Ocean on the other side. It’s famous for its dramatic scenery, seaside cliffs and views of the often-misty coastline.
